saying I don't know what I'm doing, well neither do i
i laughed a little and so did you
i took that as my cue to pull you closer
and wrap my arm around your shoulder
walking through the snow
i was off showing you to the spot just past the mobile house
where they had wooded lots and were building detached garages
in these small, winding neighborhoods
and creek beds backed to properties
in the cul-de-sacs, it felt so right
i’ll go back to her
earlier it was coffee and conversating at someone's house I didn't know
could’ve been my parents but I don't think so
i remember you were sneaking smiles at me in between answering all of the questions
from the old man sitting across from me
the coca-cola blimp shone down a glowing red as it passed by in the dark
i don't know why it was circling our location
i can't hear a word that was said again
god, i wish i’d stop chasing my tail
what do i remember?
maybe if i made my way back down to you,
i’d stop circling myself and you
looking back, pretty sure you were messing with me, and I loved it
the only place i should be is in present company
